The Vent-Tech model SZG sewer valves are air release and vacuum break valves designed to provide surge protection and seal at zero hydraulic head (i.e. no reliance on a minimum pipeline pressure to achieve seal). If the HGL is expected to be consistently maintained above 3 psi then use a Model SWG valve, otherwise we recommend specifying the SZG.

The Vent-Tech Model SWP sewer valve is a light weight, low-height ABS plastic air/vacuum valve. In severe applications where the strength, corrosion resistance and durability of all 304 or 316 stainless steel construction is required specify the Model SWG, otherwise we recommend the Model SWP.

  • A recent installation in Boyd County, KY illustrates just how good these valves are. As I was told by the customer, they had a noise problem among other issues with their old valve. They tried to fix it many different ways by replacing parts and more. The only thing they could do was to attach a mower muffler on the output to try and quiet the constant annoying whistling sound that rang out every time the pump station came on. Of course these mufflers would corrode and rust away in in a short period of time, so they always had to replace them. Once they put in the Vent Tech SWG, the noise problem disappeared, the residents are happy and the pump station even works better.
